Overlooking St George with sweeping views to the Pine Valley Mountains in the distance, this new construction Spanish-style home sits on a 0.60 acre site atop a prominent ridge in the city. Embracing a Mediterranean-style plant palette and design aesthetic, the design highlights site program as outdoor 'rooms' with flexible circulation flow between spaces. ​

Designed for a growing family, the program embraces activity while still offering a sense of formality. A large formal lawn edged by a paver walkway is flanked by landscape walls, but still provides space for large family gatherings and lawn games together. Rows of trees provide privacy, gives vertical structure to space, and opportunity to grow and harvest fruit together as a family. A large pool area feels inviting for both adults and kids alike with space to play and relax.

Providing structured, formal planting closer to the home reinforces the feeling of outdoor rooms or courtyards often found in Spanish-style design, while more naturalized clusters of planting in crushed rock further away from the home gives reason to wander in and around the informal gravel pathways and blends the space into the natural landscape.
