This simple, elegant site design embraces the wildness surrounding it, with a strong focus on preserving the wetlands and meadows that support abundant local wildlife. The landscape’s health relies heavily on thoughtful maintenance practices—carefully considering if, when, and where mowing occurs, while allowing natural human “game trails” to evolve organically over time. This delicate balance fosters an environment where nature and human presence coexist respectfully.

Built elements near the building adhere closely to the architectural grid, establishing order and structure. Yet, a subtle departure from this alignment in the paving furthest from the house introduces a quiet moment of intrigue—a small but intentional gesture that blurs the edge between the designed environment and the wild landscape beyond. This nuanced play between regularity and natural irregularity invites visitors to experience both the calm of structure and the freedom of the untamed.
